Newmen’s New Waves roll in shimmering sound waves toward a utopian shore.
Inspired by a short story by sci-fi author J.G. Ballard, Newmen’s new album “Terminal Beach” weaves past and future into a musical Möbius strip –
a loop endlessly circling utopia, dystopia, and the digital now.

Musically, they blend early electronics, synth-pop, and neo-kraut.
The centerpiece, “The Loop”, nods to Kraftwerk with dreamy synths and vocoder vocals, evolving into a melancholic man-machine mantra: “on (technical) repeat”.

Instrumentals like “Legato Linear” echo NEU! but land in the disco.
“Echo System” channels Stereolab, shifting lyrical perspectives and embracing contradiction.
“Comfort Inn” fuses Fleetwood Mac and Can – with the working title: “Fleetwood Can”.
In the closing track “Concrete Beach”, the band even samples their studio kettle.

Newmen masterfully combine cultural critique, retro-futurism, and club sonics:
“Terminal Beach” is danceable, thoughtful, and forward-looking –
a record that makes the future feel possible again.

New Waves von Newmen rollen in schimmernden Soundwellen an einen utopischen Strand.
Inspiriert von einer Kurzgeschichte des Sci-Fi-Autors J.G. Ballard, verweben Newmen auf ihrem neuen Album „Terminal Beach“ Vergangenheit und Zukunft zu einem musikalischen Möbiusband –
ein Loop, der unaufhörlich um Dystopie, Utopie und digitale Gegenwart kreist.

Musikalisch trifft Early Electronics auf Synth-Pop und Neo-Kraut.
Das Herzstück „The Loop“ erinnert an Kraftwerk, wandelt sich aber zum zeitkritischen Mensch-Maschine-Mantra: „on (technical) repeat“.

Instrumentals wie „Legato Linear“ verneigen sich vor NEU!,
„Echo System“ referenziert Stereolab, wechselt Perspektiven, widerspricht sich – wie unser Alltag.
Im scheinbar beruhigenden „Comfort Inn“ treffen Fleetwood Mac auf Can – der Arbeitstitel: „Fleetwood Can“.
Im finalen Track „Concrete Beach“ brodelt sogar der echte Wasserkocher im Studio.

Newmen gelingt das Kunststück, Kulturkritik, Retro-Futurismus und Clubästhetik zu verbinden:
„Terminal Beach“ ist tanzbar, tiefsinnig und hellsichtig – ein Album, das den Blick in die Zukunft wieder hoffnungsvoll macht.
