Stefan Hantel ist ein deutscher Musiker, Musikproduzent und DJ, der unter dem Künstlernamen Shantel bekannt ist. Mit den 2003 und 2005 auf seinem Label Essay Recordings veröffentlichten Bucovina-Club-Compilations, die eine Auswahl modern interpretierter osteuropäischer Tanzmusik enthalten, gehört er zu den international populärsten Vertretern des Balkan-Pop.

Stefan Hantel is a German musician, music producer, and DJ known by the stage name Shantel. With the Bucovina club compilations released in 2003 and 2005 on his label Essay Recordings—which feature a selection of modern interpretations of Eastern European dance music—he is one of the most internationally popular representatives of Balkan pop.
