Tim Roth from former jazzoutfit Contrast Trio founded Carmino to realize his ideas of a music that sucks anyone willing, into a vortex of trippy, meditative grooves, that mingle between Jazz, Krautrock and World, Electronic and Minimal Music. Blending Sequencers and modular synthesizers with krautrocky live drums and surfy guitarriffs, Carmino are part of a new wave of jazz musicians, that have studied their instruments to perfection, yet look beyond the borders of their musical origin, brushing off jazztraditions and conventions and understanding music as the universal language that it is, warmly embrassing anyone with an open heart and an open mind. Tim Roth, Thomas Sauerborn and Tomek Witiak are much sought after musicians in Frankfurt, Cologne and Germany, and have travelled the face of the earth. With his band Contrast Trio Tim Roth won the Jazzpreis of Hesse 2015, and has travelled the whole continent with the band, including Ukraine, Greece and Italy. The band members have played shows in many places of the world including Deutsches Jazzfestival Frankfurt, Brazil, Japan, China, tours with Goethe Institut to Ukraine etc.
