Whether as part of Luk & Fil, in collaborations with Sir Serch or Tufu, or as beat producer Knowsum - Nepumuk is an integral part of the German hip hop scene. Whether as a producer or rapper, the native of Mainz breathes music, you can hear that. Together with his buddy Dustin, who in certain circles also operates as a Negroman , Nelson discovers his passion for rap at school. The two are just of legal age when they start their first musical steps - and thus attract the attention of the Mainz-based label Sichtexot.
Already while Luk & Fil make a name for themselves with black humorous dissections of society & imaginary opponents, the rapper can not let go of the controls and releases already in 2011 first Beattapes as Knowsum. From then on, it took another four years for the Nepumuk to chase his first solo rap project into the eternal spheres of the Internet.
While duo colleague Negroman sometimes takes completely different paths in his solo projects, the Nepumuk remains largely true to the Luk & Fil line. His productions sink deep into jazz, soul & funk-soaked beats, but here and there also tread paths inspired by queer synthesizers. In short, it never gets boring. And the love of making music is always at the forefront.
This is no different with his rap publications. Absurd punchlines meet merciless observations of humanity and passionate puns. This is the case on "For a Wider Audience" as well as on "Ad Absurdum". The Nepumuk remains the Nepumuk, remains the Nepumuk.
