Retrogott & Hulk Hodn

Retrogott & Hulk Hodn caused a sensation in 2007, at that time still under the names Huss and Hodn. On the 2007 album Jetzt schämst du dich! they settle accounts with the entire rap scene and dissent unabashedly on 25 tracks commercial rappers. In addition to all the criticism, some rappers on the album are also praised. The album is very well received in the scene and makes the two known outside of Cologne. Underground legends such as J Dilla or MF Doom can be counted as influences of the duo. Artists of the golden era of rap such as Big L or Nas are also among the artists' influences.

In 2013 the renaming follows and Huss and Hodn becomes Retrogott & Hulk Hodn. In 2013 they released and renamed the album Fresh, with which they reached the charts for the first time. The creative and refreshing, backward-looking sound of the duo is well received in the scene and so three more albums will follow until 2020. Her latest work to date, Land und Leute, will be released in 2020 and is the artists' most successful record to date. The album reaches number 19 in the charts in January 2020 and gives the two their first top-20 placement - and without trap beats, autotune or gangster posturing.
